I'm having consistent issues with my raised bed vegetable garden. For the last couple for years, seeds inconsistently sprout, vegetable growth stalls out or plants generally under produce. We replaced all of the dirt in the bed this year and replaced it with dirt purchased from a local nursery, but the issue remains. Any suggestions?

Soil mixes may be marketed as suitable for raised beds without identifying the components and their proportions. However, because the soil you purchased hasn't been productive, it would be helpful to know its composition.
According to experts at the University of Minnesota, "the ideal soil mixture for a raised bed is a mixture of around 2/3 to 1/2 topsoil and 1/2 to 1/3 plant-based compost. If the topsoil contains a lot of clay, you may also add some sand to create a more loamy soil texture."
With or without more information about the soil you purchased, test the soil to determine whether amendments are needed to create optimum growing conditions.
