I’ve had a large raspberry patch for over 12 years with tremendous results in Apple Valley. This year over a third of the plants are drying wilting and drying up. Bachman’s looked at the stems and said it doesn’t look any bug is attacking them. Could I have root rot problems. None of the other plants are looking very healthy. What can I do about it for next year?

Raspberries are susceptible to several diseases and insects. Some are fairly benign, but some will require you not to grow raspberries in the same location for several seasons. Without a photo, I can't say much more. Check this diagnostic site:
