Coneflower growth #941825

An older coneflower bloomed for weeks. I transplanted it to a sunnier location. It has been putting out unusual looking growth for several weeks. What is that and what if anything should I do about it? Thank you Inge

Hi, 

Unfortunately, this is adisease called Aster Yellows which effects plants in the aster family. Echinacea is one we see it a lot in. There isn't a cure and it can be transmitted by insect feeding so we recommend that you remove and discard the plant in the trash and not a compost pile or curbside compost program. 

Keep an eye on your other echinacea and remove them as soon as it is detected so you dont have many plant losses.
