What is eating my rose and how do I get rid of it?

This is roseslug sawfly larvae damage. They are found on the undersides of the leaves. 
If they are no longer present then do not treat. If you are still finding them, you can hand pick, treat with insecticidal soap( not dish soap), or the insecticides listed in the following bulletins. Using hand picking, or insecticidal soap when pollinators are not present( early morning or at sunset) are the  safest options for pollinators.
