Voles, also called field mice, are more of a problem in winter than summer. They are most likely attracted to available food, such as a bird feeder. They also like shelter, such as long grass and wood piles.
Eliminating those should reduce their numbers to a tolerable level.
You can use mousetraps but that’s hardly worth the effort.
