Bush/Shrub dead or in need of TLC #931608

Hello! I’m an amateur gardener who recently acquired a landscape. This bush/shrub looks dead or does it just need some TLC? It seems like a different plant is growing around it. What should be my next step? Do I need to take out the bush/shrub and try something different there? Thank you! Risa

Thank you for reaching out. If that is part of your bush along the bottom, then your bushes are not dead. I would cut it back to the green growth from the bottom and then let it go from there. Be sure to keep it well watered this summer.
