Pole bean varieties #931604

In your opinion, what is the best eating stringless pole bean variety for the North Metro area?

Sherburne County Minnesota

Expert Response

I am a big fan of pole beans! They produce well and are easier to pick than bush varieties. Blue Lake and Kentucky Wonder are two favorites of many vegetable gardeners. My favorite is Kwintus bean, though the seeds are difficult to find (often sold out has been my experience). They are tender to eat even when the pods get extra big. As happens all too often when I miss a few or don't have time to pick.

Thanks for the question!
