Hello, I live in Baltimore and have a large Horse Chestnut tree. It is dropping a lot of flowers. Can I compost these in my regular compost that is mostly kitchen scraps and grass clippings? If so, do these count as green or brown?

Expert Response
We are not aware of a reason they should not be composted, and since they are comparable to dried fallen leaves at this point, which are considered "brown" material, they can fall into the same category.
