Expert Response

We are not aware of it being discontinued (some wholesale suppliers that provide garden centers with inventory still list it, for example), but in either case, you can find fungicide recommendations for managing fruit tree diseases in the Virginia Tech Home Fruit pest management guide, which has been updated for 2026. You can search the PDF with keywords for what fruit types or diseases you need to control to jump to the relevent sections.

The VaTech guide shows ‘Fung-onil’ as a substitute for Captan.

Thank you for your help.
