Are school gardens required to have hand washing stations? Can you provide sources with information on food safety in school gardens?

We don't think so, if you're referring to an outdoor handwashing station, but to be sure, we suggest you contact UMD food safety Agent Carol Allen (info. on the linked page), and the school system itself should also have an answer. The Extension fact sheet Food Safety in Your School Gardens, Classrooms, and Greenhouses may also be helpful for referencing other best-practices guidelines.
