Apples grow better in the western part of North Carolina since the weather is a little cooler in that part of the state. However, you can grow apples in our area. Here is some information on growing fruit trees in North Carolina. Table 2 contains recommended apple varieties for North Carolina. Note that not all apple trees are self-pollinating.
